Jacques Lalloz
 
Jacques Lalloz studied Japanese at the University of Paris, and then came to Japan to study comparative culture at Kyoto University in 1972. Now he teaches French at Kyoto University. During his thirty-plus-years stay in Japan, he has translated several works of fiction, including Takeshi Kaiko's Darkness in Summer, Kenji Nakagami's The Kareki Sea, Ko Machida's Kiregire, Jiro Osaragi's The 47 Ronin from Ako and Hisashi Inoue's Tokyo Seven Roses.
