Yura Okamoto was born in Moscow in 1974. He entered Osaka University to study anthropology after learning Japanese. Currently he is enrolled in the graduate school at Osaka University. He is the translator of Junnosuke Yoshiyuki's Until Sunset and Kenji Nakagami's The Kareki Sea.
