Irina Purik studied comparative linguistics and lexicology at Novosibirsk State University. Presently she is the deputy director of the Siberia-Hokkaido Center in Novosibirsk and, as a leader in the Siberia Japanese Teaching Association, teaches Japanese. Also she studies traditional Japanese theater in the graduate school at Novosibirsk State University.
