Lioudmila Ermakova
 
Lioudmila Ermakova, born in Moscow in 1945, studied Japanese language and Japanese literature at Moscow State University. She received a PhD from the Institute of Oriental Studies. She went t Japan in 1994 to conduct research at the International Research Center for Japanese Studies. Currently she is a professor at Kobe City University of Foreign Studies, where she teaches Russian. She has translated a wide array of fiction, essays, and poetry by authors such as Ryunosuke Akutgawa, Akira Kurosawa, and Shuhei Fujisawa. She has also co-translated the Japanese classics Kojiki and Nihonshoki.
