Jean-Jacques Tschudin, former Dean of the Department of Japanese Studies at the University of Paris VII, now retired, has published several books and articles on Japanese literature and theater and a number of translations. For JLPP, he translated Keizo Hino's Isle of Dreams and two volumes of Postwar Japanese Short Stories with Pascale Simon. He participated in the translation of the collective works of Jun'ichiro Tanizaki, which received the Konishi Translation Prize in 1998.
