Aude Bellenger-Sugai, originally a lawyer, studied Japanese at the university and was invited for one year at the Law Faculty, University of Tokyo on a Canon fellowship.

Back in France, she became a teacher of Japanese and Japanese society in high school and at university in North of France. Her translated works include Himatsubushi no Satsujin by Jiro Akagawa.
