Thomas Jordi was born in Zurich, Switzerland, in 1963. After graduating form Swiss Jazz School Bern, he studied electric bass at the Musicians Institute of Technology in Los Angeles. He studied the Japanese language and culture at the Free University of Berlin and at the Tokyo School of the Japanese Language in Japan. In 2006, he translated German pop lyrics into Japanese. Since 2007, he worked for the translation/interpreter-service company in Japan. He won the Distinguished Translation Award at the7th Shizuoka International Translation Competition.
