Stephen B. Snyder
 
Stephen B. Snyder received his PhD in East Asian Languages and Literatures from Yale University in1991. Among his awards and honors are Fulbright Senior Research Fellowship and Membership in PEN America Center. He has translated a wide range of Japanese literature such as Coin Locker Babies by Ryu Murakami, Gold Rush by Miri Yu, OUT by Natsuo Kirino, The Diving Pool, The Housekeeper and the Professor and Hotel Iris by Yoko Ogawa, and a previous JLPP title: Rivalry: A Geisha's Tale, by Kafu Nagai. He is a professor of Japanese Studies in Middlebury College.
