About the 2016 JLPP Translation Workshop
The Agency for Cultural Affairs is hosting the 2016 JLPP Translation Workshop in order to nurture and support emerging translators of Japanese literature. All workshop participants are prizewinners in the English or French divisions of the JLPP International Translation Competition.
The Workshop offers participants the opportunity to intensively discuss translation issues under the guidance of professional and experienced translators. The focus of discussion will be an assigned short story, which all participants will arrive having translated from Japanese into their respective languages, English or French. In addition, editors from outside of Japan will be offering a publishing seminar, where participants can learn more about the publishing industry and exchange ideas with the visiting editors.
