Senji Kuroi
 
Senji Kuroi (1932-) is a novelist from Tokyo. After graduating from the University of Tokyo of Economics, he started writing novels while working for Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. as a "salary-man". He earned attention with Aoi kojo (Blue Factory) in 1958. In 1969, he wrote Jikan (Times), about his friend, who was one of the accused of the bloody 1952 May Day incident, and himself, who chose to work in the big corporation. With this novel he won the Ministry of Education Award for New Artists, and the following year he quit his day job and gave himself over to writing.
