Yuichi Seirai
 
Yuichi Seirai (1958-) is a novelist from Nagasaki. He graduated from the Nagasaki University of Education. After graduation, while working for the Nagasaki city government he debuted with Jeronimo no jujika (Geronimo's Cross) in 1995 and won the Bungakukai Prize for New Writers. In 2001, he won the Akutagawa Prize for Seisui (Holy Water), and in 2007 he won the Ito Sei Literary Prize and the Tanizaki Jun'ichiro Prize for Bakushin (Ground Zero), in which the story takes place in Nagasaki.
