Naomi Sugenaga (1962~) was born in Fukuoka. After studying at design school, she became a stage actress. Then she worked as an assistant for a manga artist for eight years. After quitting the assistant job, she started her singing career. While singing at shrines and cabarets around the country, an editor, whom she met by chance, asked her if she was interested in writing a novel, and then, she made her debut with Bara no Onigokko (Roses Playing Tag) in 1996.
