Miyuki Miyabe (1960-) was born in Tokyo. In 1987, she received the All Yomimono Mystery Prize for New Writers, for Warera ga Rinjin no Hanzai (Our Neighbor's Crime). She won many literary prizes, including Japan Mystery Writers' Association Prize, Naoki Prize, and the Batchelder Award.
